WHAT I’M LOVING: April Favourites

Another month is gone and not only it means that time is moving way to fast but also that my wedding is just around the corner. Let me just take a moment to freak out a little bit. . . ok, I am fine now.
This month has been one full of surprises, new purchases and great discoveries. There are quite a few things that I have been loving and what better way to share it than with another monthly favourites, as per usual?

Most of my favourites are beauty related, although I have many fashion favourites too that I will mention as we go through but first of all, let’s talk about books.
“The F Word” by Lily Pebbles was my book of the month. It is a very chilled, laid back read about female friendship.

It made me think a lot about my role as a friend, about what I expect from my friends and it also brought back many memories from my childhood friendships, making me realize why maybe they didn’t last up until now. It is a very good read and I recommend it to anyone who wants to know more about friendships in general by reading someone else’s experience. Read my Thoughts About Friendship here.

Now let’s talk beauty. And I have quite a few to mention. First, lipsticks! I made a few discoveries – first, the Charlotte Tilbury Lipstick and Lipliner in Pillow Talk. I love this lipstick, it is the perfect everyday choice and also perfect for my wedding makeup. I know I won’t regret this choice. I done a whole post about it: Wedding Talks #5: Your Lips but Better ft Charlotte Tilbury.
Next are the Maybelline Super Stay Matte Ink Lipsticks in the shade Puller and Lover. Two different types of pinks that are also a perfect for an everyday look. The most amazing thing about them? The staying power! They do fade a bit when you eat, specially if it is anything greasy but if you are not doing any of that, it will last for hours! Winged eyeliner was a rediscovery of the month of April and I finally found the right product and brush for me. The Inglot Gel Liner in the shade 77, the blackest black of the eyeliners, together with the Zoeva 317 Winged Liner Brush. The perfect combo for the perfect wing! Read more about the product and tips here.

I have also found the perfect base and when I say this I am talking about it all – primer, foundation, concealer and powder. Finding the perfect combination for my skin has been a challenge during these past months as I choose the products for my wedding and I have finally came with the perfect mix of products that give me a flawless base. First, the Smashbox Primerizer – super hydrating, leaves my skin very smooth. Perfect for dry skin. Followed by the NARS Natural Radiant Longwear Foundation in the shade Fiji. It has the perfect medium to full coverage, a nice, dewy finish and it really is long lasting. I love how it sits on my skin. For concealer, I found the perfect drugstore one: the Maybelline Fit Me Concealer. It has quite a good coverage for a drugstore concealer – I would say a medium one – and it doesn’t crease under my eyes. It’s great and very affordable!
As for powder, I think this must have been the greatest discovery. I have dry skin so I am very particular about powders. I wanted something that would set without making me look like a cake face or very dry. The Cover FX Perfect Setting Powder is, as it says, perfect. It is very light weight and it really leaves my skin very soft, specially under my eyes.

With the very tiny lashes I have, finding a good mascara is a big thing for me! I have found the one and I haven’t change it for a couple of months now! I am talking about the L’Óreal Parix X Fiber Xtreme Resist Waterproof Mascara. It is a two step mascara where you have a primer to apply as a first step and it really makes my lashes look amazing. I love waterproof mascaras as my lashes really don’t hold the curl so being waterproof makes it hold a bit better!

Last but not least, for beauty, a blush!! It is very rare of me to buy any blushes that aren’t a pink undertone but I finally got out of the box and got the Ofra Blush in Raisin. It is a earthy mocha kind of shade and I love it because if just gives me a little bit of a bronzed look. It is a nice change from all the pinks and corals.

And we are finally done with beauty! It was quite extensive but what can I say? I have been buying a few bits of makeup for the wedding and so I get to try a lot of stuff and discover some amazing things.
As for fashion, I do have quite a few faves that are mostly from Topshop! No idea what’s going on with me as I normally rarely shop there but this white shirt, this bag and these and these earrings are definitely some of the amazing purchases I made this month. Oh, and also these trousers. Check my Instagram post and also my statement earrings collection!

We have finally come to an end. I don’t think I have ever done such an extensive monthly favourites but it really had to happen this time! I also have to mention a couple of favourite songs from George Ezra, he has been killing it recently and my top two are definitely Paradise and Hold My Girl. So beautiful!

What are your top favourites of this month? What do I really have to try?
