A Cult Beauty Haul

A Cult Beauty Haul

Online shopping has to be one of my favourite ways of shopping. Who wants to go out, mix with the crowd at those busy, horrible times where everything in the shops is upside down? Not this girl over here. That is one of the reasons I hate going to town during weekend. It is just too busy, too messy and I don’t have one bit of motivation to do any shopping at all. And although I do enjoy buying clothes online, beauty is something a bit different. I love swatching, feeling for the product, having a look at the packaging and just browsing all the products for hours. Yet, there is one exception to that rule and that is Cult Beauty.

I wanted to add a few new things to my skin care regime and also makeup collection and decided to dive into the Cult Beauty website – and what a dive it was. I spent hours there and it is so easy to constantly click add to basket.

Here are a few bits and bobs that I bought this week.

A Cult Beauty Haul - The Ordinary Skin Care

The Ordinary is a brand that I have found through my fellow bloggers. It is highly adored by a lot of people and I was too curious not to try some of their products. The brand has a simple, stripped back approach in terms of style, application and it’s contents, and that’s exactly the ethos I was looking for. I have only used these products a couple of times and so I am not able to tell you if they are worth the hype but they do look very promising. With a very affordable price tag and a great variety of products, it is very hard to go wrong. It might be a bit tricky to find the exact products for you, specially if you aren’t a skin care expert. I did have to do quite a lot of research to find not only the most adored products but also the ones that are perfect for my skin. Cult Beauty stocks a huge variety of these products and the description helps a lot in deciding which ones you want to buy. After a bit of research and reading a lot on other blogs, I decided to buy three products: moisturizer, a serum and a primer.

A Cult Beauty Haul - The Ordinary Skin Care

Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate 10% Moisturizer | I am always on the hunt for the perfect moisturizer that is very hydrating and reduces appearance of fine lines. This moisturizer in particular also claims to be brighten the tone of your skin whilst also fighting signs of aging. I am not old or even close but I am a believer that the sooner you start looking after your skin and preventing signs of aging, the better.

It also says it is a very hydrating and lightweight and very kind to your skin. I have tried only a couple of times and it is too soon to say anything about any of these products but you keep an eye out for a review in the next following weeks.

“Buffet” Multi-Technology Peptide Serum | Well, I am not someone who loves serums or finds them mandatory on a skin care regime but, again, my skin is so dry sometimes that I thought that maybe that is the step that is missing so I went on the hunt for the perfect The Ordinary Serum. “Buffet” is one of the best sellers and so I had to buy it, no questions asked. This is another anti-aging product but with full hydrating properties. I do have to say that although I tried this only three times, I could feel such an amazing difference and it did plump my skin. I can’t wait to see what it will do when using it regularly.

High-Spreadability Fluid Primer | Makeup primers are one of the things I love to experiment. The more I try the better as I haven’t found the perfect one as yet although I have found some that I love. Claiming to be very hydrating and creating a smooth canvas for makeup so that there is no dry patches, this primer from The Ordinary is one that I am very curious to try. Give me anything that is more hydrating and I am happy. Can’t wait to see what this primer will do.

A Cult Beauty Haul - New In, Zoeva Cosmetics

Zoeva is such an amazing brand with a big range of products. I already own a couple and was looking to add some new ones and I couldn’t wait any longer. It is really hard to decide what to buy without going overboard. The variety of eye shadow palettes is insane as well as blush palettes, lipsticks and brushes. These are the three products that I added to my collection.

Nude Spectrum Palette | I can never have enough eyeshadow palettes, can you? This little gem is even more beautiful than what it shows in the photos online. It has a total of 15 eyeshadows, evenly distributed between matte and shimmers. It is predominantly filled with warm toned eyeshadows and I am not mad about that because I do love my warm tones much more. There is a lot of bronze shades as well as matte peaches or pinks. Such an amazing range of shades, I can’t wait to try it. I did do some swatches that you might have to wait to see in another future post but let me tell you – you won’t be disappointed.

Basic Moment Blush Palette | After trying the Zoeva Rose Gold Blush Palette I knew I had to have another trio like that. Every time I use the Rose Gold Blush Palette people compliment not only my contour but also blush and highlight! Everyone wants to know what I am using. Unfortunately I have already hit pan in all the three shades so when I scrolled down Cult Beauty and saw the Zoeva Basic Moment Blush Palette, I had to have it. It has a very different tone of blush and highlighter. The contour shade seems to be very similar and I am really happy with that because I love how subtle it is and how natural it makes my contour look.

The highlight is more of a champanhe gold whilst on the Rose Gold palette it is more of a white iridescent hue that really illuminates the complexion. The blush on this new palette is matte and sort of rose peach which I really like! On the Rose Gold Blush Palette, the blush was a peach shimmery shade that really looked great on the cheek.

I have really high expectations for this palette! Can’t wait to give it a go.

Pure Velour Lipstick in Faint of Heart | I have never ever tried any of the Zoeva lipsticks. When I saw these online, I couldn’t help but buying at least one shade. I went for something that I knew it would go with almost anything and could easily be an everyday shade. So I picked Faint of Heart, a nude mauve. This is meant to be a creamy liquid lipstick that dries to a matte finish with a long lasting formula. Sounds great to me!

I can’t wait to try all these Zoeva products and create a stunning look. Hint, hint, that might be the next post on Monday! Stay tuned.
