My Summer ’16 Makeup Must Have

Summer in the UK was almost non existing but I did spend three weeks in the beautiful Madeira Island and my make up days were very few. Yet, there were products that I stuck with to get that glowing, bronzed skin look with a very light, day time appropriate smokey eye.

Starting by priming my skin with the L’oréal Lumi Magique Pure Light Primer for a glowing canvas. This primer is great if you love dewy skin. It also smooths your skin but it won’t reduce or hide any pores so you might need an extra step if that is a problem for you.
L’oréal Nude Magique Cushion Foundation (shade 11) has been one of my favourite foundations this year so far. For a day look, I would apply it lightly with a brush for a more natural looking skin, still showing my cute freckles. For more of a full coverage, I would simply apply it with a beauty blender and that would give me a very flawless and airbrushed skin. Love it.
For concealer, the Maybelline Super Stay 24H Concealer in medium has been my go to. Full coverage, easy to blend, very lightweight and also feels very hydrating, great if you have dry under eyes like me.
In the days where the heat was almost unalterable and I didn’t want my foundation to melt, I would set it with the Maybelline Super Stay 24H Powder in medium. This product would not only set the base but also give a little extra coverage if that was something I was going for. If I wanted something more light weight – something that happened very often – I would go for the Laura Mercier Translucent Setting Powder.
To finish the face, I would dip my brush on the Bourjois Délice de Poudre Gold Bronzing Powder in Peux Mates 52 – absolutely in love with his. For blush and highlight, the Zoeva Rose Golden Blush Palette was the way to go. The shade of the blush and highlighter in this palette look amazing in tanned skin. In love.

With the face done, time for eyebrows, eyes and lips.

Anastasia Beverly Hills is my favourite brand at the moment for eyebrow products. So with the ABH Brow Definer in Dark Brown and the ABH Brow Gel in the colour Expresso, I would define and set my brows. Done.
Another Anastasia Beverly Hills product that I can’t live without is the Modern Renaissance Palette – the best £41 spend in a makeup product and currently out of stock at beautybay and cult beauty.
To define the crease, a mix of golden ochre followed by burnt orange. For the outer corner of the eye, raw siena to define and deepen it slightly and for more of a dark but still day appropriate smokey eye I would dip my brush lightly into antique bronze mixed with a tiny bit of red ochre and define more my outer v, blending all very well, as well applying it to my lower lash line.
To highlight the brow bone and for the rest of the lid, tempera was the eyeshadow I would go for. As an inner corner highlight, vermeer is my go to. Beautiful shadow! And this is the eye look done, followed by curling my lashes and applying my favourite mascara of the moment – the Kiko Extra Sculpt Waterproof Mascara. If you have tiny little lashes that don’t hold the curl like mine, this one is perfect!
To finish, my lipstick choice is the L’oréal Paris Collection Exclusive Lipstick in Julianne’s Nude. A beautiful pink nude very hydrating on the lips. It is my go to lipstick no matter what.
To set everything and prevent it from melting, the Maybelline Super Stay 24H Setting Spray has been quite a good drugstore product I have been enjoying at the present.

What is the makeup product that you can’t live without during summer?
