Everyday Makeup Routine // Naturally Bronzed & Glowy

Loving yourself without makeup is key but if you are a makeup addict like I am and love to do your makeup, that is ok too! Although I feel confident and pretty without any products on my face, I always need makeup when I go to work, shopping or even to go for a coffe. Makeup for me is fun and I love playing with it.

Spring has begun and so I have been trying to go for a more natural look while still having a full face of makeup. This look in my opinion is quite natural and gives you a nice, healthy glow. The eye makeup is pretty simple and it will go with any lipstick – from nudes to bright reds, you choose!

I loved seeing myself with this makeup and so I thought I would share it with you.

Before applying my makeup, I always moisturize and apply a serum. Although the correct way to apply would be the serum first and then the moisturizer, I feel like my skin reacts better doing it the other way. As a moisturizer I am using the No7 Beautiful Skin Day Cream for normal to dry skin. This is such a great moisturizer and it also has SPF 15!

After this I apply a new serum I have been trying out, the KIKO Milano Blooming Glow Revitalizing Face Serum. This is a great product that I will be reviewing on the blog very soon! After prepping my skin, it is time to start my makeup!

First, the base and surprise, surprise, I am wearing the L’oreal Infallible Sculpt Contour Base in the Shade 03. I always love a medium to full coverage foundation that still feels lightweight and lasts (almost) all day and this foundation gives me that. Apply it either with a beauty blender or a brush, depending on the result you want and we are ready for the next step.

To conceal, I have been mixing two favourites: Fit Me by Maybelline in the shade 10 – with a yellow undertone to cover any darkness under my eyes –  and also the Radiant Reveal Concealer by Bourjois – a brighter concealer to illuminate my complexion. I mix the two of them for my under eye area while on my chin, bridge of my nose and forehead I apply the Radiante Reveal Concealer. I try to go very light with the concealer as I don’t want a thick layer on top of my skin. It is spring and the temperature is rising so having a thick layer of makeup won’t be very pleasant. Remember, with makeup less is more!

For powder, I have been reaching for the Laura Mercier Translucent Setting Powder. With only a small amount on the brush, I dust it all over my face to set the foundation and concealer. This will keep everything in place and you can barely tell you applied powder because it is so light weight – I love it!

As bronzer and blush I used the Too Faced Blushing Bronzer Duo in Carrie and Big. I apply the bronzing shade to define my cheekbones and also on my jawline and sides of my forehead, kind of creating a 3 shape. This brings some dept and natural shadows to my complexion while giving me a nice, bronzed look. I love this bronzer! It is so subtle and beautiful! I also apply it to the sides of my nose to kind of contour it.

For blush, I mix both the bronzer and blush from this duo and you get the most pretty colour you could imagine. I can’t really explain it but I am hoping that the photos will make it justice. It brings some colour to your cheeks, giving you a natural glow. Why have I never thought of doing this before?

To highlight, I go for something natural but that will still give me a nice spring glow. For that, I use the Makeup Revolution Ultra Contour Palette and with the last highlighting shade from the second row (I kind of wish these had names), I highlight the top of my cheeks, brow bone, cupids bow, middle of my forehead, down my nose and chin  – basically the high points of your face. To apply it I use the Morphe Brush M503 as it just blends the product seamlessly. Then, I blend even more with the brush I used to apply powder, this will make it all blend together – the bronzer, blush and highlight. It is worth this extra step.

Brows for me are the second most important thing on my makeup after the base. Brows frame your face, lift your eyes (if you do it right) and pull the look together. I can never skip this step. To fill them in, I use the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz in Dark Brown with a very light hand and small strokes. Again, less is more! To set the brow hairs in place, I go on top with the Anastasia Beverly Hills Tinted Brow Gel in Espresso. If I can spend some extra time on my brows (very rare), I apply some concealer to cover up any mistakes. And this is it!

Like I said, the eye makeup is simple – I did a very natural brown smokey eye just to add some definition.

As eye shadows, I grabbed the Makeup Revolution Redemption Palette Essential Mattes and with the light brown shadow, I defined my crease, bringing it up towards my brow, blending it very well. With the dark brown, I deepened the color on my crease and also applied it to the outer corner of my eyes kind of in a “V” shape to enlongate and lift my eye. To the rest of my lid I applied the lightest shade on the palette, making sure everything was perfectly blended.

I also applied the light brown to my lower lash line, adding the dark brow just at the ends, blending it halfway and this is it! Pretty basic but natural and flattering.

After curling my lashes I applied some mascara and I used the KIKO Milano Extra Sculpt Waterproof Mascara. I recently bought this and I love it! There will be a review on it soon.

Last but not least, the lips and like I said before, any lip colour will go with this look and that is why I love it! This time I decided to go for a beautiful dusty rose nude lipstick, the Maybelline Super Stay  24H Color Lipstick in Rose Dust.

Another lipstick that I love to wear with this look, specially during bright, sunny days is the Maybeline Color Sensational Matte Lipstick in Siren in Scarlet – a beautiful bright red lipstick with an orange undertone to it. Beautiful for either fair or tanned/deep skin tones.

And this is the final look. I really hope you enjoyed it! Let me know your favourite makeup products for this spring!
