Bourjois City Radiance Foundation & Radiance Reveal Concealer // First Impressions

Bourjois City Radiance Foundation and Concealer

Spring is just around the corner and with that, many brands are releasing new products. While I was at Superdrug, I spotted some new Bourjois base products and I was intrigued by them. I am a lover of the Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation and so when I saw that they released a new foundation, I was quite excited. So, I went ahead and bought the two new releases: the foundation and concealer and I couldn’t help myself but to buy another product to go with these two: the primer.

After trying them all for the first time and being quite impressed with such inexpensive products, I decided to write a first impression on them.

Starting with the primer, I was quite excited for this one! I love a luminous primer that gives me a nice, natural glow so I couldn’t wait to try it.

The Bourjois Happy Light Base Serum claims to illuminate the complexion and hydrate it with a smoothing action for a refined skin. It is a product ideal for normal to dry skin and so that is more than appropriate for me.

With a small and compact packaging, it is a product that you can carry anywhere with you if you need to do your makeup on-the-go. It also comes with a pump, something that is always a good thing for me as I find that I can control the amount I am using. To prime my all face, I only used one pump and that was more than enough.

When squeezing the product out of the pump, you will come across a pink toned serum, with a cream/gel consistency that glides into your skin in an effortless way leaving a dewy finish. It feels very smooth and hydrating on your skin.

It gives a dull skin a glowy and luminous finish without the presence of glitter. It is a great base for foundation as it gives a smooth, airbrushed canvas to work on but it can be also used on its own and you will feel great.

Bourjois Primer, Foundation and Concealer

The Bourjois City Radiance Foundation contains SPF 30 and anti-pollution screen that is suppose to reduce the presence of carbon particles on the skin, giving a fresh and luminous complexion.

Not much to say about the packaging – very simple and easy to squeeze, delivering you 30 ml of product. It is very light weight and compact, being something very travel-friendly that you can throw on you make up bag for that weekend away.

The color range is quite limited and yellow toned – not only in this foundation but many others from Bourjois – yet, for someone like me that has fair skin with a slight yellow/olive undertone, the color range is good enough. I bought the shade 02 Vanilla and it was the perfect match.

It is a very light weight foundation but with a great coverage. They do say it is light-medium but I would risk it and go all the way to medium or even full coverage when applying a second layer.

With a creamy consistency, it is easily blended in to your skin. The finish is smooth, airbrushed and dewy – perfect for these next spring and summer days. Not only it smells amazing but it also feels very hydrating on your skin.

I will have to say that this will easily become my  go-to foundation because it is so light weight, easy to apply and it just gives a beautiful, glowy but natural finish. Amazing for spring and summer days.

Now, the Bourjois Radiance Concealer  – described as a light enhancing concealer that conceals dark circles and imperfections whilst smoothing and hydrating for 24 hours.

The packaging is too cute not to have it in your collection – small, compact and sleek. I love it! It was the first thing that caught my attention.

Again, the shade range is not the greatest – with only three shades to choose, I went for the lighter one 01 Ivory that is a shade lighter than the foundation and the perfect highlighting color for a concealer.

With a creamy consistency, it blends easily and it erases any dark circles that may exist. It feels very hydrating, avoiding it to crease. The coverage is amazing and the shade is perfect for illuminating certain areas of your face.

I was quite surprised with the quality of this concealer and I am so sorry it is quite small as I will definitely be re-purchasing this little one.

Bourjois City Radiance Foundation

For bronzer, I applied the Too Face Soul Mates Blushing Bronzer in Carrie and Big and for blush I went ahead with the Bourjois Aqua Blush in Ingé-Nude. This brought back shadows, shape and color to my complexion. As an highlighter, I applied the Makeup Revolution Highlighter in Golden Lights. On my lips, I wanted something natural so I applied the Revlon Color Stay Moisture Lip Stain in LA Exclusive.

I normally set my whole face with powder to ensure the longevity of both the foundation and concealer but this time, I only applied powder to my eyes and left the rest of the face as I was loving that dewy and glowy finish.

Not setting my base did not change anything at all. The foundation and concealer wore for, at least, 9 hours without fading or smudging. It looked as perfect as when I first applied it and I am surely going to wear it again for those non-ending 14 hour shifts.

I absolutely loved these new products. As always, Bourjois never fails to surprise me!
