Love.

It is Valentine's Day and while I am here happy for this day to exist and to be able to share it with my one and only, many people have a lot of negativity and don't appreciate at all the existence of this day to celebrate love.
Yes, I do agree that we do not need a day to celebrate or show how much we love our family, boyfriend, husband, dog or cat. We don't. But the truth is, life gets busy. And because of that, we don't get to have one day or two a week to go out, pamper ourselves and be romantic like there is no tomorrow.
Being both nurses, we don't get to spend a lot of quality time together. Most of the time we are tired to do anything, our shifts can be completely opposite and that is really bad - but we got used to it.
We love staying in and being lazy but for these romantic nights out, we don't get to have the time we wish we had. So having a day to do so is great and it helps.

There is no day that I won't say how much I love him and, the same, there is no day where I don't feel loved and appreciated. But to be able to celebrate it like this, on this special day, is amazing and we should all appreciate it.
I love Valentine's Day. I love going out for dinner to a restaurant that is fully decorated with hearts, candles and playing cheesy songs. I love getting ready for me and for him, feeling all beautiful and glam and let him fall in love with me again, as I fall in love for him every single day.

We started celebrating our love yesterday and oh, how amazing it was! We went for dinner at La Fontana here in Blackpool. A great Italian restaurant with lovely food and the service was amazing. There was hearts in the ceiling, walls and little fairy lights.
The music was as romantic as we could wish, they even played our song "A Thousand Years by Christina Perri" (not planned at all. Beautiful life coincidences)
We were happy to be there, happy to be able to spend another Valentine's together and happy to have each other for four years and a half - and many more to come.
Embrace Valentine's Day whether you have a partner or not. Valentine's Day is not only to celebrate this kind of love but also all the love you feel for anyone else.
You don't get to spend a lot of time with your mom, dad, brother or that special best friend? Today is the day.

I will always appreciate and celebrate Valentine's Day, no matter how old I am. Life will get busier. We will have kids and it will be stressful. So at this time of year we will take a deep breath, get ready, go out and tell how much we love each other, no matter what.

To my amazing boyfriend, a big THANK YOU. Thank you for sticking up with me for all theses years, for putting up with me without complaining too much, to make me feel special not only in this special time of year but all year around.

I hope to be celebrating many more Valentine's Day with you, until death tear us apart. I love you!

Happy Valentine's Day.

  1. Aww this post was so sweet and it's great that you guys started celebrating yesterday! Also the dessert looks insane, it's making me starving lol. Sometimes the day can seem a little over commercialised I think. But I definitely agree with what you said about it too. It's definitely a great way to set aside a day to appreciate your loved one. Especially as you said, when daily life get really busy.:)
